Hillary Clinton not so impressed by a heckler as she delivering a speech at Buffalo University

The former Secretary of State spoke to a large crowd at the University of Buffalo on October, 23. Hillary Clinton handles in a very smart way to a heckler who said: ” You let them Die”, referring to the four Americans killed in the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September, 11, 2012 including Ambassador Stevens. “People should sit down and talking instead of yelling”, Clinton responded. benghazi will be an issue if Hillary decides to run for president in 2016. She knows it. But her opponents should not forget she’s dealing with vicious and unfair attacks since the day she get into politics. She’s a fighter and it’s not going to change anytime soon…

POLLS OF THE DAY: October, 11: De Blasio is not too liberal for New York City

Polls of the Day returns today !
To begin with, let’s take a look to the New York City mayoral election. Less than a month before Election Day, the democratic nominee, Bill de Blasio who runs on a liberal plateform against Wall Street is leading his Republican opponent Joe Lotha by 40 points in a latest Marist poll released on Friday. Bill de Blasio gets 67% of the votes when his challenger gets only 23%. In a heavily progressive city like New York, the democrat in the race doesn’t need to turn to the middle to gain the support from independents voters after the primary. The election will be hold on November, 5.

Two others polls came out on Friday:
The current Republican Maine Governor Paul LePage is trailing Mike Michaud,
a Democrat, by 3 points in a hypothetical 3 way race with Eliot Cutler (Independent).
The election will be hold  one year from now.

Mike Michaud (D): 34% / Paul LePage(R): 30% / Eliot Cutler (I): 24%

(Critical Insights)

In Massachusetts, Martha Coakley (D) would win by 20 points over Charles Baker (R)
if the election was hold today according to a new poll conducted by Western NE University. Coakley lost the senatorial election to Scott Brown (R) in 2010.

Martha Coakley: 54%   / Charles Baker: 34% (Western NE University)

Barack Obama, the first female president ?

President Obama told publicly this week he wants Janet Yellen to become
the next chair of the Federal Reserve.
The vice-president of the FED
is expected to replace Ben Bernanke.
She could become the first women
to hold such a powerful position when the US economy is still struggling
to move out of the greatest recession since the 1920s.

Janet Yellen will probably become the next chair of the Federal Reserve/ Jewel Samad (AFP).

Obama’s decision could easily be seen as a new way to advance women equality in this country if it wasn’t a choice by default. Actually, Janet Yellen wasn’t Obama top choice at the beginning of the vetting process. The White House was pushing Larry Summers bid but the former Obama economic adviser was forced to give up because he hasn’t enough support within the democratic caucus in the Senate. Many liberals democrats led by Elizabeth Warren could not support Summers due to his ties with Wall Street.

Meanwhile, the President was criticized by some women groups for not appointing women to key cabinet positions after Hillary Clinton left the administration in early 2013. Moreover, most of his advisers are men. Those groups expressed some frustration arguing that the president hasn’t delivered enough to a key constituency that certainly helped him to win the presidency two times.  Obama run against  an allegedly “war on women”
by conservatives over abortion rights throughout the GOP primary.
Obama won the women vote by a 12 points margin (55% to 43%).
The President gets a 38% points lead over Mitt Romney with unmarried women.

Besides politics and as a matter of facts, Barack Obama  will be remember in history books as the President who picked a woman to lead the FED. His records on women rights also include two historic  nominations to the Supreme Court :
Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.
